Launched in 2020, Project Roshn is a transformative initiative dedicated to achieving Saudi Arabia's ambitious goal of reaching 70% homeownership by 2030. Positioned as a significant giga-project under the auspices of the Public Investment Fund, Roshn aims to revolutionise the Kingdom's real estate and infrastructure sectors while actively contributing to the well-being and prosperity of its citizens.
Roshn's innovative communities are designed to seamlessly blend modern living with inspiration drawn from the rich history and heritage of Saudi cities. These communities are envisioned as vibrant and lively spaces that cater to a diverse range of tastes and budgets, setting new benchmarks for excellence in residential living experiences.
The targets of Project Roshn include the construction of 400,000 homes by 2030, with approximately 30% comprising entirely new housing stock. This extensive project encompasses the development of 138+ million square meters, along with the creation of 850 mosques, 2,400 schools, 50 police stations, and 50 defense offices. Additionally, the initiative aims to plant 1 million trees, cultivate 60 million shrubs, and contribute to the construction of over 30,000 homes in Sedra alone.
Project Roshn, initiated by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, marked its official launch on August 19, 2020, as one of the prominent megaprojects alongside Neom, Red Sea Project, Qiddiya, and Diriyah Company. Positioned as a strategic endeavor, Roshn aims to contribute significantly to the broader vision of economic diversification and development within Saudi Arabia.
On August 24, 2022, Roshn made headlines by securing the naming rights to the Saudi Pro League in a landmark five-year agreement valued at $127 million. This move underlines Roshn's commitment not only to large-scale infrastructure but also to actively participating in the development and promotion of sports and entertainment within the region.
Further expanding its influence, Roshn ventured into sports sponsorship by entering a three-year partnership with the Ittihad football club in June 2023, coinciding with the signing of renowned footballer Karim Benzema. The platinum sponsorship deal enhances the brand visibility and association of the project with high-profile athletic endeavours.
In a strategic move towards urban development, Roshn forged a substantial partnership in September 2023. The project inked a 45-month agreement worth $2.06 billion with China Harbour Engineering Company. This collaboration is focused on the comprehensive development of Riyadh's Sedra and Warefa communities.
ROSHN has a high profile board with the Chairman being Prime Minister H.R.H. Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The CEO of ROSHN Real Estate Co. is David Grover.
The initiative also involves a team of architects, urban planners, engineers, and various experts contributing to different aspects of the project.
ROSHN has four regions, each of whom are wholly inclusive, and aim to deliver a broad range of homes to accommodate all preferences from studio apartments to premium villas.
Riyadh Sedra
Located in the heart of Riyadh, Sedra is a living community. It comprises 30000+ designed homes complemented by 400+ amenities that include mosques, local shops, cafes and restaurants, parks, schools, fitness and sports facilities, and neighbourhood entertainment spaces.
Jeddah Alarous
The 18000+ homes Alarous community is the first integrated community in Jeddah. It provides a variety of homes that suit the various segments of Saudi society. Phase 1 offers more than 2300+ residential units in a fully integrated community inspired by the designs of classic Jeddah architecture, encouraging residents to connect and enjoy nature as part of their daily life.
Riyadh Warefa
The 18000+ residential units community of Warefa, ROSHN's second community in Riyadh, is designed in such a way that all amenities are within walking distance. The amenities include six neighbourhood commercial centres, a district mall, five mosques and a Juma mosque, one healthcare centre and eight public schools amongst many other things.
Eastern Alfulwa
Alfulwa is ROSHN's fourth residential community in the Kingdom, covering an area of more than 10.8 million square metres and located 7 kilometres from the centre of Al Hofuf city, the major urban centre in the Al-Ahsa Oasis in the Eastern Province. The project will feature more than 18,000 duplex and townhouse residential units with a population capacity of over 100,000 people. Alfulwa is ROSHN’s first fully integrated community in the Eastern province.
Northern Marafy
Marafy is an innovative mixed-use development situated in the northern region of Jeddah.
