In 2017, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) was established to oversee the development of the capital city and its surrounding areas, including Diriyah. Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) was subsequently formed to specifically manage and implement the Diriyah Gate project.
