King Fahd Medical City (KFMC) has a rich history dating back to 1403 in the Islamic calendar, corresponding to 1983. The foundation stone of this esteemed medical complex was laid by the Prince of Riyadh region, King Salman bin Abdulaziz. However, it wasn't until the reign of King Fahad bin Abdulaziz that KFMC commenced operations. Under his leadership, and with the inauguration by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, then Crown Prince, on October 5, 2004. KFMC officially began its journey as a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia.
Comprising four distinct hospitals, namely the Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital, the Specialist Hospital, the Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Pediatric Hospital, KFMC stands as a beacon of excellence in medical care. Similarly, the Women’s Specialized Hospital, with a capacity of 236 beds, operates in alignment with international standards, excelling in high-risk pregnancy care, infertility treatment, and managing complications in the early stages of pregnancy. Lastly, the Rehabilitation Hospital, with 150 beds, holds the distinction of being the only Ministry of Health (MOH) facility offering acute holistic rehabilitation services. Through interdisciplinary rehabilitation programs, it assists referred patients in reaching their maximum potential, with medical, nursing, clinical, and administrative staff working collaboratively to ensure comprehensive care and treatment.
